This course is designed to give students a leg up toward success on the ASQ (American society for Quality) Certified Quality Inspector Exam.
The Certified Quality Inspector (CQI, formerly CMI) certification requires competence in metrology fundamentals and the ability to use appropriate measurement systems to fulfill the organization's dimensional measurement requirements.
The CQI uses the proven techniques in the Body of Knowledge to evaluate hardware documentation, perform laboratory procedures, inspect parts, measure process performance, record data and prepare formal reports.
The class meets on Thursday evenings from 4:00 to 7:00 for seven weeks.
Larry McInerny is a Senior Inspector at Advanced Inspection Services. He has worked in quality assurance for manufacturing for 17 years and before that spent 22 years in the U.S. Navy working on aircraft electronics systems, logging nearly 10,000 flight hours as an aircrewman.
